Veteran’s Motel in Northwest Arkansas

Fayetteville’s Veterans Motel, Inc. is a non-profit hotel for our Veterans in crisis. It started between two friends while feeding the homeless and volunteering at many feeding sites, as well as, food distribution outreach to the homeless. They would pack up sack lunches and go the places where the homeless gathered.

“It amazed me how many were U.S. Veterans. Their stories were diverse and many”.

The one thing that stood out was their inability to get the medical attention needed to improve and move upward in their lives. With no transportation and no place to stay while awaiting a treatment program, sometimes living hundreds of miles from a VA Hospital. Some of these men and women had families, spouses, and children, but could not go home because they needed to be admitted or close to a VA Hospital for necessary treatment. The idea of a VA Motel was born. The dear friend has since passed but the mission continues.

Local Charity Group, Giving Laughs, Inc will host a Comedy Show to raise awareness and donations for Veteran’s Hotel in October. Click HERE for details
